I don't really care how, and I don't need it to be automatic. Naturally they will need to be on different ports. You can choose the port, right? Why don't we assume for the moment that I successfully choose different ports.
What I would like to know is what you mention. Are there any other reasons that I would not be able to install a second copy. Do you know that the installer checks and prevents an install, when there is already an instance of a different version on the machine? If the installer allows it, is there any other reason? I am pretty sure you can have two servers running off the same DB server, so there is no problem with DB name conflicts. You can have multiple versions of Java libraries installed, so there should be no problem getting the right Java installed.
Is there anything that would prevent installing two different servers on the same machine?
