  Hi,
  I get a Null pointer exception when I try to call an Interstage BPM web service.
  
  Steps:
  1. Add a Web Service node
  2. Go to Console, and get the WSDL url for a Process Definition. My example is: http://showcase111.interstagebpm.com/console/_wfxml/ivar/service/dOnboardingHealthcareProfessional/v1.0?appId=Hybrid_Security_Management&wsdl=true
   
  3. Use that URL in the WSDL location field of the web service action editor.
   
  4. Select the Operations tab
  Gives me this error:
  "Invalid Input parameter. Invalid value found for parameter in properties file. java.lang.NullPointerException"
   
  How can I call an Interstage BPM web service from your Studio? It seems crazy that your own WSDL does not work in your product, and gives a Null Pointer exception.

  I get "Authentication failed for ASAP/SWAP request"   In order to access the WSDL, you have to authenticate, right?   How did you arrange for the Studio to do authentication?  I don't see a prompt for username / password.

  Keith,
  
  There is "Security" tab in the web service node that you can enter in your user name and password, however, I was not able to access the web service after entering my log in credentials- I receive a failed with http response code: 500.  If I try the URL in my browser and proper authentication, I was able to access the web service.

  Right, the security tab is to allow for making authenticated web service request.  Do you have evidence that these security settings are used when accessing the WSDL?

  I'll run a SOAP monitoring tool to see if I can verify that the security settings are being used.

  I was instructed to use a hardcoded userid and password in the WSDL url. That allowed me to get past the WSDL loading. Of course, this is not practical in the real world.

  You should not need to hardcode the userid and password into the WSDL URL.  Authentication is done from the Security tab and should be working properly.
