  Although the current 2009 US GAAP taxonomy is still valid, it won't be valid forever. In the future, our customers will have to use the newer taxonomies. Instead of having to create a new taxonomy from 2011/2012 GAAP taxonomies you can remove the older base taxonomy and swap it with the current one.
  
  
  This is how you do it:
  
  1. Use the "Tools - Replace Base Taxonomy (..." options
  2. Use the folder option to map the required 2009 taxonomies to the corresponding 2012 taxonomies
  3. On each of the tabs of the dialog box that follows, add the "mappings" from the old to the new taxonomies, as required.

  To get the latest Taxonomy:
  Go to  http://xbrl.us/taxonomies/Pages/US-GAAP2012.aspx
  Download All Taxonomies (.zip)

  Unzip it to your desktop or somewhere you can locate from.

  
  Update Taxonomy
  Open your Taxonomy Editor, go to Tools --> Replace Base Taxonomy (Specifying Folders)

  Choose New Base Taxonomy Folder will display
     Enter Folder location where you unzip the us-gaap-2012 folder   (For Example: C:Documents and SettingsdtamDesktopus-gaap-2012-01-31)
     Enter Base URI: http://xbrl.fasb.org/us-gaap/2012

  Next Mapping
     In this window, you will have to spend some time to match Items from your existed items.
     Check "Display full path"
     Contexts in black are not Mapped to the items on the right
     Contexts in grey means they are match with existing taxonomy
