  Problem Description:

  In order to update the Target Namespace of your XBRL documents (taxonomy and instance document), please follow the steps outlined below.
   
   
  Solution:
  
  Step 1: Open the instance document using Instance Creator

  Step 2: Select Tool->Edit Taxonomy

  Step 3: Select File->Save As(Taxonomy)
  *Note - please make sure "Save As (Taxonomy)" is selected and NOT "Save As...".  This exercise will not work if the incorrect selection is made.
  

  Step 4: Under the Property window, change the target namespace and file paths if necessary

  Step 5: Click OK to save the updated taxonomy. Then, in the instance document, the namespace setting for the target namespace
  will be updated automatically.

  Step 6: Select File->Save to save the instance document

  Typically users make a mistake on the date in the target name space. An example being companyname-2011-12-31.
  
  They should instead change it from companyname-2011-12-31 to companyname-20111231
  
  
  
  The targetNamespace attribute must match http://{authority}/{versionDate} with versionDate matching CCYYMMDD.
  

  This is under section 6.7.4 of the Edgar Manual Filing
