  Goal: How to Generate Template Instances as Input File for Sheet Mapping Designer

   

  Fact: XWand Sheet Mapping Designer

   

  Fact: XWand ToolKit v13.1.3

   

  Fix:

  To use Sheet Mapping Designer, one of the input files under the xbrl folder (refer to Sheet Mapping Designer User's Guide for the directory structure of the contents folder) is template instances.

   

  You may wonder what template instances are.  Template instance is the instance document withou facts inserted yet.

   

  To generate the template instance document, simply open Taxonomy Editor and load or create the taxonomy files.  

   

  Once ready, go to File > "Create New Instance Using Editing Taxonomy" which will validates the taxonomies and launch a separate Instance Creator tool.

   

  In "Instance Creator" tool, add the contexts, then go to File > Save as >  then specify the instance path to locate "Template Instance" default name as instance.xml file after clicking on OK button.
